If you are looking to receive Satellite Weather Images from the NOAA Satellites, here is the info. Please check web page on Receiving Weather Satellite Images.
- NOAA 15 - 137.6200 MHz
- NOAA 18 - 137.9125 MHz
- NOAA 19 - 137.1000 MHz
- GOES 16/17 - 1.6941 GHz
- GK-2A LRIT- 1.69214 GHz
The GOES birds share a frequency since they are line of sight, therefore there is no interference to each other. However, speaking of interference, the NOAA birds often receive interference from utilities and in some areas even paging services.
In addition to the above there is the METEOR line of satellites from Russia, these are a little tricky to decode and I am hoping to write up an article soon on this as well.
If you want to receive these, I have an article on how to build NOAA Weather satellite Receivers as well as Building a NOAA weather Satellite receiver using the Raspberry Pi.
Additionally I now have my results and guide for the GOES weather satellite receiver which I had now built several versions of. All using a raspberry pi and some simple components. Check it out!
If you find something incorrect, have an update, or if there is something you would like to see added to the site, drop me a line here. I like to keep things as up-to-date and as accurate as possible. Thank you! - Lucas / W6AER
